Are you ready to go back to work or get down to business?

As our economy strives to re-open, many professionals are questioning whether they want to return to the traditional workplace. As job opportunities contract and the appeal of working in a large office setting becomes less attractive, many people are considering starting a business of their own. If you find yourself contemplating this choice, may I suggest you at least consider a franchised business.

Many professionals do not consider franchising because of commonly held misconceptions such as:

  • High cost of entry: There are very good franchise businesses that can be started for $50,000 cash or less

  • Limited choice of industries: No, not all franchises sell food. There are franchises in virtually all business segments from services to consulting to retail stores.

  • Hands-On Requirement: Whether you want to be an Owner-Operator, Executive- Manager or Semi-Absentee Owner, there are franchise opportunities for you.

  • Ridgid Rules & Requirements: While franchises are based on time-proven systems which need to be followed, the skills of an entrepreneur can flourish in a franchise system especially in marketing, customer service and company culture components of building your business.

But the strongest reason to consider a franchise is captured in the industry’s mantra: Franchising allows you to be in business for yourself but not by yourself. With the resources of the parent company behind you, your business will get a level of product development, marketing, sales support and coaching/mentorship/advice that an independent start-up will be hard-pressed to match.
